Just Wow! I am so impressed and so proud to be African. The food was yummy & tasty. It also worth the price! Musa is doing something impressive with African BBQ House (ABH)....and we all should support him. Great to know ABH is expanding to 2 new locations...totalling 5 or more !!!!! Wow. Great job!
pros; - coming from an extremely picky individual, everything about this platter was mouth watering - everything was SO flavourful - chicken was soo juicy - rice had thee perfect spices - beef was flavourful - owner gave us 2 free waters - option between fries or plantains - option between medium or spicy - had enough leftovers for midnight munchies cons; - kinda expensive for 2 two stick platters (60 with tip) - long wait 20 min (nobody else was there) - rice was cold - some beef pieces were kinda chewy - seating area isn’t the nicest but owner says it is being renovated - door on the bathroom doesn’t lock, my husband had to stop a random dude from walking in on me - price online is different from price in store (Menu in store has tape on prices with sharpie prices, half the prices were wiped away) Overall, we were still extremely happy we found this place on a whim. I honestly rate the food 9.5/10, we really enjoyed our meal regardless of the few cons. We will definitely return when we are in the area!
Exquisite African Food in Orleans. We love their lunch special. They did never disappoint me with their food quality and quantity. They serve the food hot and portion is generous. Recommended for any foodie.
It was our first time and boy were we amazed with the dishes we brought home for the family! Their chicken and Jollof rice was the best one I’ve had in the city, and their ginger juice was excellent! The plantains were sweet and cooked perfect. Highly recommend.
Wow incredible BBQ chicken, you know immediately this was grilled over charcoal. We asked for spicy, she asks 'African spicy ?'. Glad we said yes. Plantains were insanely good, great jollof rice, and nice salad. Very reasonable too.
I had ordered 3 skewers of goat kabab and one plate of rice (combo) it was too much for one meal and costs 35. I recommend to add one more rice and make it two meals. The rice is very delicious. I guess they barbecue on charcoal. Taste very good.
I would leave 10 stars if I could! We always order the quarter chicken leg combo and it’s NEVER disappointed. I’m a little high maintenance and always ask for less rice and more salad because I’m trying to eat healthy the rice is STILL AMAZING however they HOOK IT UP EVERYTIME!! They sent me tonight a full size salad instead of just extra in my platter. They’re awesome, amazing and super friendly. Another instance when we ordered off Uber we thought we had put fries over plantain and called the confirm as it wouldn’t show on the app and he confirmed both plaintain but offered free side of fries as well! Just amazing comfort food and amazing people running it. We order once a week every Friday for our takeout meal. I already ate some plantain and chicken in my picture lol but I had to stop eating to boost about them! Appreciate you guys!!
First time trying this place and I must say it met our expectations. The food was fresh, chicken was the perfect spice level, juicy and overall everything was delicious. If you like yam or sweet potatoes, do try the plantain as a side!
